The Center requests an all-party meeting for September 17 just one day before the Special Session of Parliament.

The Central government has announced an all-party meeting scheduled for September 17, a day before the Special Session of Parliament commences later this month. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi, in a message on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), stated that the meeting would commence at 4:30 PM.

“Ahead of the parliament session scheduled for the 18th of this month, an all-party floor leaders meeting has been convened on the 17th at 4.30 PM. Invitations for the meeting have been sent to concerned leaders via email, with formal letters to follow,” Joshi communicated on X.

In a surprise move, the central government has disclosed that a five-day Special Session of Parliament will be held from September 18 to 22, encompassing five sittings. However, the specific agenda for this session has not been disclosed.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi shared the government’s decision via Twitter, saying, “A Special Session of Parliament (the 13th Session of the 17th Lok Sabha and the 261st Session of Rajya Sabha) is scheduled from September 18th to 22nd, featuring 5 sittings. During this auspicious time, we look forward to productive discussions and debates in Parliament.”

This Special Session comes in the wake of the G20 Summit held in the national capital on September 9-10.
